Ed Hardy was born on January 17, 1945 in Laguna Beach, California. In 1982, He started a Publication company, Hardy Apero Marks Publications, which has already published around 20 books on Tattoo Arts. He has also started his own clothing label Hardy Way which is becoming popular in US, especially amongst the cast of Jersey Shore. In 2002, Ed Hardy and Ku USA formed Hardy Life LLC, which holds the trademark ownership as well as the copyrights to all his images. Hardy Way estimates that 2009 royalty revenue will be approximately £10 million.
